The Game

A mind game whose goal is to avoid thinking about the Game. Thinking about it counts as a loss, which players commonly announce.

Context

The familiar announcement is “I lost the Game.” After a loss, play continues as people eventually forget about it again.

Rules and grace periods vary between groups. A conversation or explanation about the Game can itself prompt another loss.

Examples

  • A friend remembers the Game during an unrelated conversation and announces the loss.
